Nasinu Primary Schools Netball Association president, Asenaca Chambers, said she was impressed with the performance of teams participating in the association’s netball competition.

Having not participated in the Nasinu Primary Schools Netball Competition in the last three years because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Chambers said even players from the youngest grades were performing well.

“Having not played netball for the past three years, the majority of the teams here today are doing very well.

“This shows us that the students are happy to be back on the court, and have spent a lot of time training and perfecting their skills,” she said.

Chambers added that the performances of the players and teams have been increasing since the beginning of the tournament four weeks ago.

“Week after week, we have been surprised at the way some of the players and teams have been playing and this is a very good sign.”

The competition consists of nine schools and features teams from the under-9 grade to the under-14.

“We have nine schools here in this competition.

“All schools are from Nasinu except for one which is Kalabu Primary School.”

With three more rounds to go before the finals, Chambers said they are expecting very exciting competition from the participating schools.

“Just from the looks of things we can already say the finals will be a very exciting one and we are looking forward to it.”

“We’ve also noted that there is a very huge support system from the parents of players from different teams.

“The court today was just full with families and friends of these players and we are grateful to have these types of support systems.”
