YEAR 10 students around the country will be sitting for their external exams tomorrow.

The Fiji Year 10 Examination is part of the six external examinations set by Fiji’s Education Ministry with a goal of making Fiji a knowledge based society.

These include Year 6, Year 7, Year 8, Year 9, Year 10, Year 11 in addition to the Fiji Year 12 and Fiji Year 13 Certificate Examinations.

While the Year 6 and Year 8 students have completed their external exams, Attorney-General and Minister for Education, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has sent his best wishes to the remaining Year 7,9, 10,11,12 and 13 students who will be sitting for their exams in the coming weeks.

“I assure you that the hard work you put in will be recognised and that your achievement will be a stepping stone to a new and better opportunity,” he said in a statement.

He said the Year 7, 9,10,11,12 and 13 students spent the past two terms taking lessons, studying and preparing for these tests.

“So as you prepare for your exams, do so with the knowledge that your effort will be rewarded and do so with the knowledge that you will be able to access the unprecedented new funding we’ve given to scholarships and our tertiary loans scheme to fulfill your dreams of higher education or go on to the career you are passionate about pursuing to start lives of your own, and begin your own lifelong journeys of learning,” said Mr Sayed-Khaiyum.

He has reminded the students that no exams were the sole determinant of their future as students have far too much potential for one exam to ever assess.
