THE Fiji Bitter Nacula 7s will feature 48 men’s teams, 24 under-21 teams and 10 women’s teams in the two-day competition which will be held at Churchill Park Lautoka from this Friday.

Tournament organiser Mosese Susu said the postponement of the tournament had come as a blessing in disguise for them.

“We have increased the teams in the men’s division from 40 to 48.

“There are three spots left and the first three to approach us will take that spot,” Susu said.

He said the tournament had to be postponed as the adverse weather affected preparations.

“The effects of Tropical Cyclone Mal had affected teams.

We have teams from Taveuni, Savusavu, Labasa, Yasawa, Mamanuca, Kadavu and they called us to say they wouldn’t be able to travel at that time.

“So, to accommodate every team we postponed, and we are glad all teams will get the opportunity to participate this coming weekend.

Susu said preparations were on schedule and his officials were ready for the start of the tournament.

He said they were awaiting confirmations from a few co-sponsors from the minor categories.

Meanwhile, for teams wanting to book a place in the tournament, Susu can be contacted on 9803818
