FIJIAN Drua half-back Peni Matawalu appeared in the Nadi Magistrate’s Court yesterday charged with one count of assault.
The court issued a domestic violence restraining order against Mr Matawalu as the victim is his wife.
He was released on a $500 bail and a stop departure was also issued by the court.
Mr Matawalu is scheduled to re-appear in court on June 9.
Last week, Drua co-captain Iosefo Masi was charged by police with assault and has ongoing legal proceedings in the Nadi court.
In a statement on Thursday, Fijian Drua said the Drua had concluded its investigation in both incidents.
The Drua said as both cases were still undergoing legal proceedings, the club would not announce any sanctions-related decisions until the legal process had concluded.
The Fiji Drua said as part of their employment requirements, the players would continue to be paid.
