Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka met with the Australian Minister for International Development and the Pacific and Defence Industry Pat Conroy in Papua New Guinea this week.

While attending the third Forum for India-Pacific Islands Co-operation (FIPIC) Summit in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, both leaders held discussions about areas of co-operation and partnership.

These included economic development, labour mobility, sports diplomacy, health and education, defence and security and climate resilience.

Mr Rabuka also acknowledged the $AUS10 million ($F14.8m) support given by Australia towards the Fiji Cyclone Recovery Program for rebuilding schools in the Northern Division.

Mr Conroy also thanked Mr Rabuka, saying as traditional partners, Fiji and Australia had much potential to build a resilient and sustainable future for the wellbeing of its people and that of the Pacific family.
