THE Kadavu Rugby Union is also making a bold reset in women’s rugby, with a largely new-look squad ahead of the 2026 Marama Cup season.

Tabuya confirmed the women’s program has undergone significant changes, with only a handful of players retained from last year, while several Kadavu-linked players from other teams have joined camp.

“We have a totally new look this year,” she said. “But it’s very exciting because players from other teams who are from Kadavu have also joined us.”

She added that the union is actively widening its talent reach across Viti Levu and Suva, tapping into Kadavu players in club rugby and even those contracted in the Drua system who have expressed interest in returning home.

The women’s team is part of a broader push to strengthen Kadavu’s presence across all competitions, with friendly matches planned in Suva ahead of the official season.

Tabuya also called on supporters in Fiji and abroad to back the teams through merchandise purchases and fundraising initiatives, noting that 20 percent of merchandise revenue goes directly back to the union.
