Stats released by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions yesterday, revealed that a 19-year-old woman was charged with the abduction, rape and sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl last month.
The statistics on incidents of serious sexual offences for the month of November showed that 29 people were charged with 60 counts of sexual offences.
Of the 29 charged, the woman was the lone female charged under this category.
Eleven of the victims were under 18 years and in 12 of the incidents, the victims and the accused were related. In addition, a 63-year-old man will also have to front court for allegedly raping his son’s girlfriend.
Seven cases were withdrawn after discontinuances were filed due to insufficient evidence, false complaint and the death of an accused.
Meanwhile, a 57-year-old man was charged with four counts of rape, one count of sexual assault and one count of pornographic activities involving a juvenile.
The man allegedly raped a 14-year-old girl and recorded pornographic activities involving her.
