BLK Lavidi Brothers were the new champion of the men’s division in the Fiji Bitter Nacula, Yasawa 7s, defeating Devo Babas 19-5 in the cup final at Churchill Park on Saturday.
The Kadavu-based team, known for their motto ‘Nomu liga, nomu laga’ delivered a dominant performance, showcasing their fitness and determination. Lavidi Brothers scored three tries, converting two to walk away with a $6000 cheque.
Devo Babas managed a single try.
This victory marks a significant milestone for BLK Lavidi Brothers, which have shown steady improving throughout the season.
From reaching the quarter-finals to climbing up to the semi-finals in previous tournaments, their persistence and hard work finally paid off in Lautoka.
Team captain Sefanaia Vuli expressed gratitude and pride following the win.
“First of all, we want to thank God Almighty for helping us,” Vuli said.
“I want to salute the boys for their superb performance and also thank our supporters for standing by us.”
With their triumph at Churchill Park, the Lavidi Brothers have firmly established themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the Fiji Bitter 7s Series, setting a high standard for future competitions.
