Westpac Fiji investigates mysterious disappearance of $850k

Westpac Bank Fiji is investigating the mysterious disappearance of a staggering $850,000 yesterday, a bank spokesperson has confirmed.

The spokesperson did not disclose the details of the incident but said the matter had been reported to police.

It is alleged the money was transported by air from Savusavu to Nausori.

“As this is a police matter, we cannot comment further on the incident but we can confirm that there is no impact to our customers and all branches are open today and welcoming customers as usual,” the bank said

Police spokesperson Wame Bautolu did not respond to queries on the issue.
