Golfers aged 50 and above gears up for the much-anticipated Western Seniors Open, which will be held on May 24, at the Denarau Golf & Racquet Club.
Organised by Golf Fiji in partnership with Kriz Signage and Five Squares, the tournament will feature senior golfers from across the region, with a separate category for participants under 50 also available.
With an entry fee of $100, including lunch, the event promises competitive action across A, B, and C grade net categories for both men and women, along with novelty prizes.
The competition will follow a stroke play format, with registration staring at 9am and a 9:30am shotgun start.
Golf Fiji President Amitesh Chandra expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming event, highlighting its growing popularity and importance in promoting inclusivity in the sport.
“The Western Seniors Open continues to be a strong platform for our senior golfers to showcase their talent while encouraging lifelong participation in the sport.
“We’re also excited to welcome players under 50 in a separate division, which helps bridge generations and expand the golf community,” Chandra said.
The tournament will be capped at 80 players on a first-paid basis, with registrations closing next Wednesday, May 22. Late entries may be accepted depending on space availability.
