Western Schools set for semi-final

THE race to the Western Secondary Schools Rugby Union finals heats up this Saturday as the best school teams from across the western division battle for places in their respective grade deciders at 4R Electrical Stadium in Ba.

With semifinal spots on the line in the U14, U15, U16, U17 and U19 grades, fans can expect an action-packed day featuring traditional rugby powerhouses and emerging schools eager to make their mark.

One of the biggest highlights will be the U18 competition, which will be played in a round-robin format instead of straight semifinals. Defending and top contenders Natabua High School, Tilak High School, Ratu Navula College, Ba Methodist High School, Cuvu College and Ba Provincial Freebird Institute will all have the opportunity to fight for valuable points in a bid to reach the championship.

The day kicks off at 8am with the U16 clash between Cuvu College and Natabua High School on Ground One, while Nadi Muslim College takes on Ba Provincial Freebird Institute in the U14 grade on Ground Two.

Other key matches include Sigatoka Methodist College against Natabua High School in the U17 division, Ba Methodist High School facing Ba Provincial Freebird Institute, and an exciting U19 semifinal between Ratu Navula College and Nadroga Navosa Provincial College.

With school pride, provincial bragging rights and places in the finals at stake, supporters can expect fierce contests and high-quality rugby throughout the day at 4R Electrical Stadium.
