At the age of 16, Moin Abraz Sahib first learned to steer a steering wheel and it was under his grandmother’s guidance that the car enthusiast learned to drive.
Since that first driving lesson Mr Sahib has never looked back and he now runs a car club called Street FX Motorsports Fiji in the West as its president.
Mr Sahib drives a red and black Toyota Levin with 4age twin Silvertop engine that has a white interior.
He first got his hands on the Levin three years ago and has made many modifications to the vehicle spending approximately $4000 on works.
“Since primary school I was always a fan of sports cars and I loved watching the Fast and Furious franchise,” Mr Sahib said.
“The vehicle is the first I’ve ever bought but as a child I was surrounded by other vehicles as my dad owned a few.”
He said they have some very high performance vehicles in the club like GTR, Skyline, Subaru, Nissan Cefiro, Honda and many others.
“We run the club to bring youths and car enthusiasts together and to organise shows and barbeque nights so we can raise funds that we can later donate to those in need in the West,” he said.
“I would say having a proper car is like extending your human ability to do what your natural body could never do. Cars are reliable, comfortable and safe if you drive accordingly.”
“It’s like being able to run at 150 km/h, without ever getting tired and with music playing! There are many things that further push the enjoyment of owning a car like having a space to yourself in the world where you can be free to listen to your own music (and sing along), drive fast or slow. It’s your ‘space’.
“I bought my vehicle for $8000 and I look forward to making it a good sports car on track.”
He said maintaining a Toyota vehicle doesn’t have a lot of challenges because most Toyota vehicle parts are available in the country.
“My dream car would be a McLaren GT because its not a normal car its a super car,” he said.
