New Zealand Minister for Regional Development, Rural Communities, Emergency Management, Local Government and Racing, Kieran McAnulty arrived in Fiji on Tuesday and was accorded a traditional welcome by the staff members of the Ministry of Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management at the Grand Pacific Hotel.
Mr McAnulty is on a visit to Fiji and Vanuatu to further strengthen co-operation between the countries in building resilience to natural disasters.
While speaking at the welcome ceremony, he said it was his first time to Fiji and he looked forward to drinking kava and watching Fiji play Japan during Saturday’s rugby union test match at the Prince Chichibu Memorial Rugby Ground in Tokyo, Japan.
