HEAVY rain is battering Lautoka City this afternoon with low-lying areas possibly experiencing flash flooding due to this downpour.

The Fiji Meteorological Service (FMS) says a trough of low pressure located to the West of Fiji is bringing heavy rain and strong winds.

Occasional rainfall and thunderstorms are expected over most places, with localised heavy rainfall leading to flash flooding of low-lying areas.

Mariners have also been urged to remain cautious as moderate to rough seas are expected.
