A coastal inundation alert is now in force for coastal areas of Mamanuca group, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Beqa and Vatulele, Sigatoka to coastal Serua-Namosi, Lau and Lomaiviti groups.
The Fiji Meteorological Services attributes this to a high pressure system to the far southwest of Fiji that is expected to generate and direct moderate southerly swells over Fiji waters.
Moderate southerly swells over Fiji waters could lead to sea flooding of coastal areas in the southern parts of the country.
Fiji Met states sea flooding of coastal areas will occur during high tides from Saturday, September 30, to Tuesday, October 3.
