A 250mm burst main at Nasealevu is the reason of the low water pressure to intermittent supply of water currently being faced by residents living in parts of Labasa.
This is a result in the low to no inflow to the Benau water treatment plant.
A statement from the Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) revealed that affected areas include Vunivau, Basoga, Batinikama, Soasoa, Parts of Vunika, Prince Andrew Road, Lowcost, Mani Road, Vitadra, Bulileka Cemetery Road, Urata, Boca, Boubale, Dreketilailai, Rara Housing, Lajonia, Abua, Saint Augustine Road, Wailevu Village, Qelewaqa, Bocalevu, Tabucola and Tiri 1&2.
WAF ground teams are working around the clock to restore supply and water carting trucks are on standby to service the affected areas.
The Authority is kindly advising its customers residing in the areas above to store and use water wisely for their immediate needs during this temporary disruption period.
