The Wardens women’s rugby team showcased their strength and determination at the Fiji Bitter Yalovata Sevens yesterday, securing back-to-back wins against the BLK Caucau women’s side at Nasau Park, Levuka.
The first match was a tightly contested affair, with the Wardens coming out on top 14-5.
Strong defensive efforts and clinical finishing in key moments gave them the edge, setting the tone for the day.
In their second match, the Wardens stepped up their game, delivering a commanding 26-10 victory.
Explosive runs and well-coordinated team play allowed them to dominate the contest, despite a spirited effort from BLK Caucau.
Team manager Etonia Taivoce commended the team’s performance but stressed the need for improvement as they prepare for tomorrow’s final.
“The girls have worked hard, and their efforts paid off in these games. However, we still need to improve our tackling and maintain momentum for the final,” Taivoce said.
With both teams familiar with each other’s strengths and weaknesses, the battle for the women’s division title is set to be an exciting showdown.
Only two women’s teams are taking part in rugby at the tournament.
