Rewa FC’s star players Ratu Tevita Warainivalu and Adi Litia Bakaniceva stole the spotlight at the 2024 Extra Supermarket Fiji FA Awards Night, clinching the prestigious Footballer of the Year awards in the male and female categories.
Held at the elegant Crowne Plaza in Nadi, the glitzy event celebrated the very best of Fijian football. Warainivalu, known for his clinical finishing and leadership on the pitch, was instrumental in Rewa’s dominance this season.
Bakaniceva, a commanding force in midfield, proved to be a game-changer for both her club and country.
Both received $5000 shopping vouchers from Extra Supermarket and $500 in cash prizes, adding extra sparkle to their crowning achievements.
It was also a night to remember for Rewa FC, also named Team of the Year after a phenomenal season.
The club’s president, Nazeel Buksh, was honored with the Administrator of the Year award for his strategic vision that continues to drive the Delta Tigers to greater heights.
In futsal, Adi Veronica added to the club’s triumph by winning the Futsal Player of the Year (Female) award, further proving Rewa’s dominance across all formats of the game.
Ba’s Elesi Tabunase and Lautoka’s Sterling Vasconcelos were celebrated as the next big names in Fijian football.
Tabunase scooped the Young Football Player of the Year (Female) award, while Vasconcelos bagged the male counterpart, showcasing the depth of talent in Fiji’s footballing future.
