Suva United Market Vendors Association general secretary Krishan Kumar is hopeful the 2023-2024 budget will continue with the waiver of market stall fees.
Mr Kumar says the implementation of the stall fee waiver has helped hundreds of vendors at the Suva Municipal Market cushion the increase in the cost of doing business.
He said extreme weather events over the past few months have resulted in the increase in the price of vegetables, thus the fee waiver has helped by subsidising operating costs.
