VUNIMONO High School girls football team made history when they were awarded champions in the Vodafone Fiji Secondary Schools Inter-district championship at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.
The team defeated Xavier College 3-2 in the final during the penalty shootout.
Team coach Elvis Goundar said he was proud of the girl’s achievement in being the first IDC Girls champion for the school.
“We had a good preparation from the beginning of the term, the girls had been training hard and this was a well-deserved win,” said Goundar.
“We would like to thank the parents and the stakeholders of the school for their input and support towards the team.”
