Singers and composers in the Domo Vou Talei song contest, who are shortlisted for the finals, will be mentored by Vude King, Seru Serevi.

This was the word from Fiji Performing Rights Association (FPRA) chairman Eremasi Tamanisau.

He said the winner would walk away with $5000 courtesy of The Fiji Times, and with only seven days to before entries close, time was running out.

“Seru will assist them in fine tuning the compositions, looking at what sort of accompaniment and what sort of arrangement would work in terms of their song,” Tamanisau said.

He said aspiring artists would benefit from Serevi’s more than 50 years in the music business.

Tamanisau said entries did not have to be professionally done.

“The recording does not have to be a first class recording from a professional studio.

“It is just a demo recording using your mobile phone. “Send it in so the judges will then have its initial processing done. “And out of all the entries 10 will be selected.”

The Fiji Times is sponsoring the Domo Vou Talei original song competition alongside Westpac, Communications Fiji Ltd, Knox Entertainment, Australian High Commission and FPRA. Ten finalists will get a chance to perform their original song at the Uprising Music Festival on July 9.
