A brief political exchange drew attention in Parliament on Friday after Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources Filimoni Vosarogo told Opposition MP Vijay Nath, “You are not coming back.”
The remark came as Mr Nath questioned the Minister for Immigration, Viliame Naupoto about plans to expand online government services for people living in Fiji’s rural and maritime communities.
Mr Nath said people in remote areas deserved better access to government services and questioned whether commitments outlined by the Minister could be delivered within the remaining months of the parliamentary term.
“We look forward to whatever he has mentioned is able to be fulfilled in these four months because their term is about to finish, otherwise, we have to come back and do it,” Mr Nath said.
Mr Vosarogo responded: “You are not coming back.”
The exchange also brought an election flavour to the parliamentary proceedings.
