The Frank Hilton Organization collected more than $89,000 in contributions after the completion of the Virtual Bara Battle which came to an end on Monday.
The annual fundraising event is held to help raise funds for those living with disabilities under the care of the Frank Hilton Organization.
After eight days of racing around Viti Levu, the Virtual Bara Battle successfully came to an end on Monday at 11pm with a total of 55 teams participating.
First-time participants, the Leadership Fiji Alumni team accelerated through the Virtual Race collecting $15,020.
The Leadership Fiji Alumni (LFA) is a network of more than 560 leaders who have participated in and graduated from the Leadership Fiji program.
“We have had a long association with FHO as most of the alumni have visited their school or office as part of our field visits during the LF program,” said LFA president Kris Prasad.
“We are aware of the critical work they do in supporting children with disabilities and are proud to have raised much-needed funds to support essential health services.
“We also led a social media campaign through the LF channels to collect donations and are grateful for our families, friends, and the wider community in Fiji and overseas who have donated generously for such an important cause.”
As a result of completing the race, the LFA team will now be joining the physical Bara Battle this Saturday that will take place at Albert Park in Suva at 7am.
