Defence lawyer Litia Vateitei, who’s representing Lambert Kuruvoli, told the High Court in Lautoka last weekthat she preferred to address pre-trial issues in the case against her client before setting a date for the trial.
Mr Kuruvoli is charged with importing and possessing 2.3 kilograms of methamphetamine.
He allegedly imported the drug in January and was found in possession of it after arriving on an international flight.
Sheenal Swastika, who’s representing the State, said she had submitted the draft pre-trial checklist to the defence.
Ms Vateitei told the court she had also gone through the pretrial checklist documents.
Justice Aruna Aluthge adjourned the matter to October 15 and extended bail for Mr Kuruvoli.
