Update: 6:08PM A PARTNERSHIP recently formed between the University of the South Pacific and the International Association of Students in Economic and Commercial Sciences (AIESEC), will push for youth internships and exchange programs for regional students at the university.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the two parties that aims to ensure the availability of internship opportunities for USP students, enabling them to explore the world and enhance their leadership capacity through the exchange and membership programs.
Deputy vice-chancellor Learning, Teaching, and Student Services (LTSS) Professor Richard Coll said this program would also raise self-awareness, be more solution-oriented, have the ability to empower others and be world citizens in becoming more aware of global issues and acting upon them.
“Through this strategic partnership, we hope to bring more international volunteer and internship opportunities to the students, engage them in our dynamic global network, and enhance their leadership potentials to better prepare them for their future career,” AIESEC Fiji managing director Ginny Do said.
AISEC is the world’s largest non-profit youth-run organisation, which enhances youth leadership movement recognised in Europe, Asia, and the Pacific.
