I seek government intervention regarding unlicensed electricians roaming our streets and communities.
It is high time an enforcement unit should be established within FEA to monitor such people. This unit has to be separate from the inspection team. If nothing is done, I believe the registered electrical contractors will soon be out of business especially in the rural towns.
This will lead to loss of revenue for the government in terms of VAT collections and other taxes. It would be much appreciated if the stakeholders could do something to safeguard the interests of registered electrical contractors.
