FOURTEEN people were this morning announced as provisional candidates to contest the 2018 General Election under the Unity Fiji Party.
While speaking at the announcement this morning at Nawaka community hall in Nadi, party leader Savenaca Narube said it is extremely important to him that Unity Fiji addresses the needs of all races wherever they live in Fiji.
“When we come to think of it, the needs of the people are simple. They just want their lives to be easier; their food to be affordable; and their houses to be better. In summary, they want dignity of life,” Mr Narube said.
He said Unity Fiji will not leave anyone behind whatever is their situation.
“We will create economic opportunities for the poor and the disadvantaged. We will focus on satisfying the basic needs of the people.
“We believe that we have the skills and the experience to provide the right solutions that last.”
Mr Narube extended his appreciation the his team that have been announced today saying they are the pioneers of Team Unity.
“I know that it was not an easy decision for you to join politics especially the younger members of the team. But thank you for your personal pledge of sacrifice and commitment.”
