LELEAN Memorial School extended their unbeaten run in this year’s Eastern Zone Under-18 Deans competition with a convincing 29-0 victory over St. John’s College in the semi-finals on Saturday.
Lelean produced another composed and clinical display, dominating both sides of the ball to keep their title aspirations firmly on track.
The Davuilevu-based side has been one of the standout teams throughout the season, and Saturday’s performance was another reminder of why they remain unbeaten this season.
From the opening whistle, Lelean controlled possession, won the physical battle and defended with discipline, denying St. John’s any opportunity to get on the scoreboard.
Their forward pack laid a solid platform with powerful carries and clean work at the breakdown, while the backline capitalised on attacking opportunities to stretch the defence and add points throughout the contest.
Equally impressive was Lelean’s defence, which stood tall whenever St. John’s threatened. The side’s organisation and commitment ensured they completed the match without conceding a single point, capping off one of their most dominant performances of the campaign.
The result not only secured Lelean a place in the Eastern Zone final but also preserved their perfect record heading into the biggest match of the season.
Lelean shifts its attention to the final, where they will look to complete an unbeaten Eastern Zone campaign and a chance to claim the prestigious Lutubula Trophy.
They will meet Ratu Kadavulevu School in the final this Saturday.
