The body of a man found beside the road at Colo-I-Suva has been ruled as a road accident.
It is a case of a hit and run, said Fiji Police Force.
The deceased in his 30s was found lying motionless near the Naisogo Settlement in the early hours of yesterday morning.
He was conveyed to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A man in his 30s has since been taken in for questioning, suspected to be involved in the accident, with his vehicle seized for forensic testing.
In the second incident, a woman in her 50s died allegedly from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident along the Queens Highway.
The victim was a passenger in a vehicle driven by her husband, and it is alleged that he lost control of their car causing it to veer off the road and hit a lamp post.
The victim was rushed to the CWM Hospital where her death was confirmed by medical officials.
The driver remains admitted in critical condition.
The national road death toll currently stands at 20 compared to 19 for the same period last year.
