Fiji soccer captain Roy Krisha has said it would be a dream come true if Fiji qualifies for the World Cup.

In an interview with FIFA, he said this would mean everything to Fiji and to him.

“After the New Caledonia game (when it was confirmed that Fiji would meet New Zealand in the last four), we said, ‘Boys, it’s just two games away,” he said.

“Two games away from the World Cup, something we usually watch on TV.”

Fiji will play New Zealand in March 2025 as part of the Oceania qualifiers.

“We know how hard of a challenge it will be against New Zealand. We need to stay humble, prepare well and be in the best possible condition for those games in March.”

“Then there will be no excuses left on the field.”

“Now, we have a great platform (with one or two World Cup qualification slots for Oceania) and that gives extra motivation, that extra belief that an island team can qualify and already in qualification we’ve seen some upsets and lots of competitive matches.”
