Two people have died following a road accident along Denarau Road in Nadi yesterday morning.
Police said the first victim, a 23-year-old man of Saru Back Road in Lautoka is the driver of the vehicle.
He allegedly lost control of his vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and strike a 36-year-old pedestrian from NokeĀ Settlement who was walking along the roadside.
Both men were rushed to Nadi Hospital, where they were pronounced dead on arrival.
A third victim, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was transferred to Lautoka Aspen Hospital and remains admitted in stable condition.
The national road death toll now stands at 19, compared to 21 for the same period last year.
