Fijian Filimone Tuivanualevu has been selected to take part in the Barack Obama Foundation Leaders program.
Mr Tuivanualevu is the senior climate adaptation officer in Government.
The Barack Obama Foundation Leaders program aims to inspire, empower and connect regional cohorts of change makers to accelerate positive and lasting change in their communities and throughout their region.
Mr Tuivanualevu will be part of the Leaders Asia-Pacific program that will focus on building a tightly-knit cohort, while simultaneously supporting individuals, uniting leaders from across Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, and Oceania to engage in values-based leadership discussions, skill building for social change, and hands-on workshops.
So far, the program has built a network of 270 leaders, across 36 nations and territories, working across various sectors and issue areas.
