THE Ba football family is mourning the loss of former national and Ba midfielder Tuimasi Manuca, who passed away on Friday surrounded by his loved ones.
Manuca was a proud servant of the Men in Black, representing Ba from 2005 to 2009 with passion and commitment. He wore the Ba jersey with a fierce pride that defined an era.
Tuimasi was the definition of a Man in Black. From 2005 to 2009, he wore the Ba jersey with fierce pride that defined an era.
Even when he took his talents to Hekari United in Papua New Guinea, his heart never left Govind Park, and we were blessed to welcome him back home to finish his career where it started.
Beyond the club level, he carried the hopes of our nation on his shoulders, representing the Fiji national football team six times and giving us moments of joy we will never forget.
Ba Football Club president Praneel Dayal said Tuimasi’s passing leaves a heavy void, adding that while the stands will feel emptier, Manuca’s name and contributions will never be forgotten in Ba.
“To his wife and children, we offer our deepest love. You allowed us to share in his life, and today, we share in your grief. Tuimasi wasn’t just a player, he was a father, a friend, and a hero who fought his illness with everything he had.
“The stands will feel a little emptier today, and our hearts a lot heavier. Rest well, Tuma. You gave everything to the game, and we will make sure your name is never forgotten in the streets of Ba,” Dayal said.
