THE three national representatives in the Vunimono High School team showcased their skills in round four of the Southern Zone women’s Futsal Championship at the Fiji FA Futsal court in Vatuwaqa yesterday.
Taufa Tabua, Seruwaia Laulaba, and Timaima Ana led their team to a convincing 11-0 victory against the Suva Muslim girls’ team.
The Vunimono High School team dominated the match from the start, displaying no mercy towards their opponents.
Team manager Ashmeeta Lata praised the girls for their exceptional performance and highlighted the impact of having three national players on their side.
“I was impressed with how well the girls performed on the court, having three national players in our team elevated our game to a whole new level,” said Lata.
“It was great to see them adapt to Futsal, considering they were used to playing 11-a-side on the field.
“Our girls are physically fit; we still have a few things to work on to sharpen our Futsal skills and perform even better,” she added.
“As we gear up for the semi-finals, we know that it will be a tough battle as all teams will be fighting for a spot in the final. Rest assured; we are more than ready for the challenge.”
As they prepare for the next round of the championship, the Vunimono High School team is determined to continue their impressive run and strive for a place in the final.
