THE Pacific Community Cup is set to expand its global reach in 2025 with the inclusion of the Canada Fiji Football Association, marking the first time team Canada will participate in the prestigious tournament.

The event will be hosted by the New Zealand Fiji Football Association in New Zealand. Fiji Football Association president Rajesh Patel made the announcement during the Extra Supermarket Fiji FA Awards Night at the Crowne Plaza Nadi.

Patel emphasised the tournament’s role in uniting Fijians across the globe.

“The Pacific Community Cup has become a grand tournament where Fijians living abroad can reconnect with their Fijian brothers,” Patel said.

“The inclusion of Team Canada demonstrates the tournament’s growth and its ability to bring our global Fijian community together through football.”

Patel also revealed plans to introduce an Under-16 competition next year as part of Fiji FA’s player development program.

“We want to engage players from around the world who aspire to represent Fiji,” he said.
