A large number of youths gathered at the X9 Nakasi Volleyball tournament yesterday, with the goal of bringing the community together and having fun during the public holiday.

The tournament, held in Nakasi, saw 32 participants who had the support of their parents, making the day enjoyable for the youth of Nakasi.

Semiti Tuitoga, the tournament organiser, emphasized that the competition aimed to promote youth advocacy.

With the rising issue of drug abuse among youths, the event provided a positive and engaging outlet for them.

“This competition is about youth advocacy, because we have seen that there is a rise in Drugs abuse and a lot of youths, they have been engaged in such activities which involved Law enforcement,” said Tuitoga.

The support from Lynda Tabuya, who sponsored the tournament, made it possible for the youths to come together and enjoy the day.

“We are trying to advocate, for the youths to come together, as a public holiday we have brought this competition, and thanks to Lynda Tabuya for sponsoring and making this possible for our youths.

“The turnout for the tournament was fantastic, with parents actively participating and supporting their children.

“It was heartwarming to see everyone having fun and enjoying the event, this being the first tournament in Nakasi, we are already planning for another big event in the future to engage even more people.”

Gratitude was expressed towards Lynda Tabuya for her sponsorship, as well as to all the parents and teams who participated in making the tournament a success.
