Tourism Fiji Chief Executive Officer Dr Paresh Pant has been appointed to the Fiji Airways Board of Directors, effective immediately.
Fiji Airways Group Chairman Nalin Patel said the Board was pleased to welcome Dr Pant, describing him as a leader with extensive experience in tourism management, destination marketing and industry advocacy.
“We are delighted to welcome Dr. Pant to the Fiji Airways Board. His deep understanding of Fiji’s visitor economy and his experience in tourism leadership will add valuable perspective as we continue strengthening our operations, expanding our network, and sharing genuine Fijian hospitality with every customer,” Mr Patel said.
Before becoming Chief Executive of Tourism Fiji, he served as the organisation’s Regional Director for New Zealand and Australia, where he led marketing strategies that delivered record visitor arrivals and tourism earnings for Fiji.
Fiji Airways Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Paul Scurrah said the appointment reflected the close partnership between the national airline and the country’s tourism sector.
“Paresh’s appointment reflects the strength of the relationship between Fiji Airways and Fiji’s wider tourism industry, and we look forward to his contribution as we continue to grow together,” Mr Scurrah said.
Dr Pant said he was honoured to join the Board and looked forward to contributing to the airline’s continued success.
“Tourism and aviation are inseparable, and I look forward to bringing my tourism industry experience and strategic expertise to support Fiji Airways’ continued growth and its contribution to Fiji’s visitor economy,” he said.
