SWIRE Shipping Fijian Drua captain Mesulame Dolokoto is confident his side can turn their season around, starting with a strong performance against the NSW Waratahs at Churchill Park today.

Dolokoto, who leads the team once again, said they’re prepared for a tough encounter against a determined Waratahs side.

“Without sacrifice, we wouldn’t be here, and we thank God.

“The Waratahs will be tough, we expect nothing less. Our first match against them was fiery, and we’re expecting the same today,” he said.

The Drua currently sit at the bottom of the Super Rugby Pacific table with just seven points, but the hooker believes the team still has a shot at making the top six.

“Yes, 100 percent I believe we still can make it if we turn things around starting with this game. I’ve told the boys to keep trying and never give up. We’ll fight for it in every remaining game.”

Reflecting on the forward pack’s performance against the Highlanders last week, Dolokoto acknowledged the basic errors in the ruck and maul but said the team has worked hard to fix them.

“We’re focused. The beauty of this season is that if you make mistakes this week, you try to fix them the next. That’s what we’ve done, worked hard on the errors we made.”

He mentioned the importance of starting with the right mindset.

“We must start with the right attitude and mindset. That’s where it begins.”

The Drua takes on Waratahs at 2.05pm.

Waratahs is in fifth place on the current Super Rugby Pacific standings with 21 points.

They have won five and lost three of its eight matches played so far.

The Drua on the other hand are at the foot of the table with one win from eight matches.

Drua has only managed to earn seven points.
