POLICE Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu has recognised Police Constable Senoveva Tikoduadua for her courage and dedication to duty after she sustained serious injuries while serving the country.
Mr Tudravu and his senior executive team visited the young officer yesterday, reaffirming the Fiji Police Force’s support for her recovery.
Constable Tikoduadua was seriously injured in April this year after being struck by a vehicle while on duty in Laqere, Nasinu.
She recently returned from Australia after undergoing extensive medical treatment and rehabilitation — having spent several months receiving care in Fiji and Australia.
Also present during the visit was her father, Minister for Defence and Veterans Affairs Pio Tikoduadua.
Mr Tudravu said constable Tikoduadua’s experience highlighted the dangers faced by police in carrying out their roles.
He honoured her bravery, saying the policing profession was unpredictable and carried inherent dangers, with the commitment to protect and serve sometimes coming at a great personal cost.
The commissioner said constable Tikoduadua’s sacrifice and commitment to service were greatly valued by the organisation.
He also assured her of the force’s full support as she continued to recover.
