THE Fiji Institute of Chartered Accountants (FICA) in partnership with University of the South Pacific (USP) will be hosting an executive workshop featuring Professor Keith Houghton, a distinguished academic and author with an international reputation for innovation in learning.
Professor Houghton will share invaluable insights and practical tools in the executive workshop “Evidence-Based Thinking”.
The workshop will introduce participants to tools that will help them evaluate information critically, make informed decisions, and navigate complex challenges, FICA said in a statement.
“With degrees from prestigious institutions such as University of Western Australia, University of Melbourne, and London School of Economics and Political Science, Professor Houghton brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to Fiji,” FICA stated.
“As the chief strategist of the Higher Education and Research Group (HERG), Professor Houghton has a proven track record of guiding individuals and organisations towards significantly better decision-making processes.”
The workshop is designed for executives and professionals with significant decision-making responsibilities.
Participants will be engaged through case studies and will learn how to:
• Ask better questions to elicit the most relevant information;
• Search for and evaluate evidence effectively;
• Make reliable decisions based on sound evidence; and
• Assess the credibility of information sources.
Chairman of FICA’s Professional Development Committee Tarlochan Singh highlighted the importance of this event for executives seeking to enhance their decision-making skills.
“This seminar offers a unique opportunity to learn from a world-renowned expert and refine your ability to navigate complex challenges in today’s rapidly changing environment,” he said.
