31 cases from Labasa and 12 from Nadi are now in court.
TLTB has reiterated its call for all tenants to pay lease rent on time, warning that continued failure will result in legal proceedings.
“It is our legal responsibility to collect rent and ensure that landowners receive fair returns from the use of their land,” the Board stated.
“And it is your responsibility as tenants to pay your rent or arrears on time.”
TLTB said it remains committed to assisting tenants through structured payment plans, and urged affected individuals or businesses to contact their nearest TLTB office or the Customer Service Centre to avoid legal action.
“Let’s work together to resolve outstanding payments and avoid court proceedings,” the Board said in a statement.
