The iTaukei Land Trust Board (TLTB) has published the names of close to 100 tenants who have rental arrears.

The details published on the TLTB social media page, names the tenants, the location of their property and the amount of money they own TLTB.

In the notice, TLTB is calling on all tenants listed to settle their long-outstanding rent arrears, some of which have remained unpaid.

These arrears span across all TLTB regions, Northern, North-Western, South-Western, and Central Eastern, and apply to all types of leases.

“Failure to settle these arrears will result in legal action, including applications for the disconnection of utilities and enforcement of vacant possession of the leased land,” said TLTB.

“TLTB reminds all tenants that it is our legal responsibility to collect rent and distribute these funds to the landowners who rightfully deserve returns from the use of their native land.”

“We urge affected tenants to contact TLTB immediately to arrange a settlement or discuss payment plans.”
