Fiji’s undefeated champion, Winston Hill is not underestimating Australia’s Lachlan O’Shea as the two boxers are set to meet for the IBO Asia Pacific Super Welterweight title on October 26.
Winston, who is defending his title against O’Shea says, he is eager to put his skills to the test once again.
“I get to test my skills once again, evolving through training camp and I am looking forward to this one,” Winston said on the TimesSport show in Suva.
His opponent O’Shea, presents a unique challenge.
Known for his free-flowing style, O’Shea is a tall, lanky southpaw boxer, who brings speed and agility to the ring.
Though naturally a 66kg fighter, he’s stepping up in weight for this fight, but Hill believes O’Shea will handle the transition comfortably.
“Making 69 kilos will be a piece of cake for him,” Hill commented, recognising the physical advantages his opponent holds.
Despite these challenges, Hill remains focused on his own strengths.
“For toughness, I’ll test him.Test his body, test his chin,” he said.
“There are no grudges going into this fight. It’s about seeing if I can deliver on everything we’ve worked on in camp.”
As the fight night draws closer, anticipation is building for what promises to be a thrilling match up.
With no losses on his record and a burning desire to continually improve, Hill is ready to put it all on the line for the title defence.
The event, hosted by South Pacific Boxing Promotion, promises to be an electrifying evening, with the main bout showcasing two fighters at the peak of their careers.
Hill boasts a flawless professional record of six wins, all by way of knockout.
The promotion will be held at Nadi’s Prince Charles Park.
