The Ba Rugby Union semi-finals lit up Vinod Patel Park last Saturday with nail-biting finishes, and unforgettable moments in both the Inox Trophy and Vinod Patel Cup divisions.

This Saturday’s grand final showdown promises even more fireworks. In the Inox Trophy final, the proud warriors of Rarawai FSC will lock horns with the determined hill men of Bukuya.

Meanwhile, traditional giants Nailaga are set to take on the spirited Toge side in the Vinod Patel Cup final.

In the first Inox Trophy semi-final , Bukuya delivered a clinical and disciplined performance, outmuscling Nanoko 31-22. Their tactical game plan and relentless defense won the day.

The second semi-final between FSC and Services Ba was a true classic FSC, living up to their motto “Sweet Rugby,” played a beautifully composed game to narrowly edge out the Services Ba team 15-14. Services Ba, featuring a mix of Police, Corrections, and Civil Servants in sharp new jerseys, came out strong in the second half, but FSC’s fitness and calm execution under pressure carried them through.

The Vinod Patel Cup semi-finals were equally captivating. Nailaga, full of experienced players, proved too strong for Ba River team, sealing a 20-13 win. In the other semi-final, Toge held off a determined Tabalei side with a thrilling 30-26 victory.

As the finals approach, excitement is in the air. The four teams are not just playing for trophies they’re playing for pride, for their people, and for the love of the game.
