Police are investigating the death of a three-year-old boy who allegedly drowned in a river at Nacokaika Village, Naitasiri.
According to a police statement, the child had accompanied his mother and siblings to wash clothes in a nearby river when he went missing.
A search was immediately launched, and his body was later found a few meters away from where he was last seen.
Police say investigations are continuing into the tragic incident.
