Listen to this article:

THREE Police officers were convicted by the Nausori Magistrates’ Court yesterday for indecent assault and conspiracy to defeat justice.
Ramendra Prasad was charged with one count of indecently assaulting a fellow female police officer.
Mosese Qiolele and Josephine Singh were each charged with one count of conspiracy to defeat justice.
According to a statement from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution, Qiolele had attempted to obstruct the course of justice by offering the female police officer a sum of $5000 to withdraw the indecent assault charge, while Singh attempted to obstruct the course of justice by having the female officer sign a withdrawal statement.
The offence occurred in February 2014 in Nausori.
Resident Magistrate Vandhana Lal found the three police officers guilty of each charge and convicted them accordingly.
The matter has been adjourned to June 13 this year for mitigation and sentencing submissions.
