The Suva Magistrate’s Court will hear on Friday, June 19, whether a former shipping company employee accepts the summary of facts in a case where he has pleaded guilty to stealing more than $210,000.
Selvan Kumar appeared before Magistrate Yogesh Prasad on Monday.
Mr Kumar was initially charged with 62 counts of obtaining a financial advantage by deception. However, the charges were later rolled into a single count of theft.
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions alleges the 42-year-old stole $210,043.32 from Famous Pacific Shipping Ltd between 2018 and 2024. He entered a guilty plea on May 19.
The summary of facts is expected to be read when the matter is called again on June 19.
