Termite infestation forces classes to move into tents

Listen to this article:

The Ministry of Education has stepped in to ensure learning continues at Saint Thomas Primary School, following the discovery of severe termite infestation in two of its classrooms.

In response to a formal request from the school’s management, the Ministry yesterday delivered and installed two high-performance tents, each measuring 72 square metres.

These temporary structures will now serve as classrooms for the affected students while permanent solutions are underway.

The two termite-damaged classrooms have been deemed unfit for use and are scheduled for demolition.

In their place, a new 1 x 2 classroom block will be constructed to provide a safer and more permanent learning environment.
