Film Fiji CEO Ramiro Tenorio will not be renewing his contract with the organisation for the upcoming year.

Recently appointed board chair Culden Kamea emphasised the key role Mr Tenorio played in the organisation’s recent successes and its survival through the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I personally regret not being able to work with Ramiro going forward, as I credit him and his small team at Film Fiji with having saved the budding Fiji film industry through the challenging times of COVID, particularly in maintaining the trust of some of the biggest production studios in the world, after the previous government failed to pay out millions of dollars in tax rebates promised, pre-COVID.”

According to Mr Kamea the organisation hopes for Tenorio to stay on as a short-term consultant to assist the audiovisual commission transition.
