An assembly for Team Fiji to the Pacific Games later this month was hosted by the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee at the University of the South Pacific in Suva yesterday.

FASANOC chief executive officer Vanessa Kilner said the assembly consisted of all of Team Fiji members who will be travelling to the Solomon Islands later this month.

“Today’s assembly was all about bonding and getting all our athletes from all sports to meet and greet each other,” she said.

“We also had different speakers who discussed topics that will mentally prepare our athletes for the games.”

More than 300 athletes, coaches, and officials attended the assembly.

“We spoke about team bonding, safety, and other things our athletes need to know about before travelling.”

The Pacific Games is set to kick start on November 19, and members of Team Fiji are expected to begin departing the country on November 12.

She also said all their teams have been training hard over the past few weeks, and they are looking forward to their outing to the games, where they hope to qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris for a number of sports.
